This game was so good! nice and simple but fun. I had a great time playing it with a gamepad, works pretty well with buttons!
I loved it when I played it last week and I loved it now after I played for another solid half hour. Sadly, the only reason I stopped both times was because there were no fish around, and no way to go back to the shop when the rod is deployed, nor any way to reel the rod back in. Were it not for that end condition, I'd never stop playing!!
The idea of fishing with a gun, the inventory system, it was so much fun!
As mentioned in the game balance warning, the balance was practically nonexistent, but that made it interesting because the strong and weak guns were clearly separated.
The sadness of buying a submachine gun was hilarious.
It was a great gaming experience, meow~
ありがとうございます!
Yes the submachine gun is a bit of a joke for balance atm, Hope to eventually have each weapon have a purpose in certain situations or against particular fish (even the RPG).
Reviewed in a Weekend Games episode :D
Thank you!
I would swap in the UI the buttons, because the square button is on the right but it's z which is left on a QWERTY keyboard and same for button X which is x and it's on the right. Brain gets all messed up
Sorry to inform you, but I played a lot of Pico-8 games, and I believe is a problem of engine itself. Aparentally is the only controls that you can’t change when programming. I suggest to play with X and C, since C does the same work of Z.
Pushed a patch to be more consistent with player intentions and switched the guide to use C, will keep working on it though since it's still got a bit of friction.
I returned to shore with bass guitar on that right inventory slot (I didn't deposit it in the inventory) and the game froze. Also, previously I returned with shotgun in that slot and it was there but it got got deleted once I came to fish again
Should be fixed now, thanks.
It appears that I ran into a really rare 'bug' where no fish spawned and I was unable to retract the fishing hook nor entering shop.... I guess I'm stuck here now?
Right now there's a limited number of fish that spawn so yeah that could happen. Will look into adding a way to pull the reel manually.
Very fun game so far, I enjoyed building up my cash and getting a large case.
Not being able to reel in the line manually is a bit annoying if the fish have wandered off, no need to keep a player from interacting with the rod again to bring it back.
Nicely done for a submission though, fun!
Yeah the reeling and tension system needs work. Will keep on it thanks!
I really liked the game!!
But I got a bit frustrated because I always got the buttons wrong and discarded the fish instead of grabbing it ='(
Thank you! I've updated with a dedicated trash slot to alleviate.
wow, absolutely adore the graphics! and the gameplay is so funny XD
sadly the game got stuck in an infinite loop when i was selling in the shop. looking forward to trying again later when it's a bit more ironed out <3
Thanks! Ah will try to fix that one. Yes hope to continue to develop on further!
